Sudbury Select Board signs Dec. 1 Special Town Meeting warrant with school roof projects

SUDBURY — November 4, 2025 — Sudbury Select Board signs Dec. 1 Special Town Meeting warrant featuring school roof projects. The board voted 5-0 to send nine articles to voters, including MSBA-backed roof replacements at Nixon and Haynes elementary schools, three solar canopy authorizations, two state liquor-license acceptances, a delinquent-tax demand fee increase from $10 to $20, and a citizens' walkway-funding petition. Members also voted 4-0, with member Dan Carty recused, to close $150,331 in unused Eversource litigation funds from 2020 and 2021 warrant articles to free cash, citing the completed transmission project and final EMF report. Planning and Community Development Director Adam Burney presented the BSC Group's June 2025 Route 20 Corridor Study; member Charles Russo cautioned that economic development "isn't going to lower any of those taxes" and pushed quality-of-life framing. The board set Dec. 3 as the application deadline for the vacant Sudbury School Committee seat, with a joint interview meeting the week of Dec. 8.
