Sudbury Select Board approves Eversource pole, two appointments, and updated goals
Select Board · Meeting of August 11, 2026
Sudbury closes FY26 with $4.5 million revenue surplus, eyes $750,000 built into FY28. Finance Director Victor told the Select Board Tuesday the town collected $768,000 in delinquent tax titles and deferrals, cutting the tax title account backlog from 49 to 38, with three accounts alone contributing $208,000, $183,000, and $137,000 in recovered principal. Motor vehicle excise came in at $5.2 million against a $3.8 million budget; investment earnings hit $1.5 million on rates near 4 percent.
Town Manager Andy Sheehan said the year-end position lets the town build roughly $750,000 in additional recurring revenue into FY28, but warned Sudbury still faces "a deficit of a couple of million dollars" heading into next year's budget cycle. The board also voted 4-0 to approve an Eversource stub pole on Station Road subject to Conservation Commission approval, appointed Blair Stewart to the Energy and Sustainability Committee, and appointed Susan Iszbidian Chaffee to the Sudbury Housing Trust.
