Sudbury Select Board advances seven warrant articles for May Town Meeting

SUDBURY — January 28, 2025 — Sudbury Select Board advances seven warrant articles, with a vocational-education resolution drawing the only split vote. The board voted 5-0 to forward articles releasing a 1986 pedestrian easement on Trailside Circle and Bridle Path, tightening the Finance Committee bylaw to bar members from other town boards, raising the Capital Improvement Advisory Committee review threshold from $100,000 to $500,000, moving Town Meeting's start time from 7:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and seeking unspecified funding for the Sudbury 250 Committee. A non-binding vocational education resolution advanced 3-1-1, with Vice-Chair Daniel Carty opposed and member Charles Russo abstaining. Member Lisa Kouchakdjian reported that of four vocational schools she contacted, only Minuteman responded, with Chair Jeff Stulin writing that an article "if properly worded" would be helpful. "I am willing to be a fool for these kids at Town Meeting," Kouchakdjian said. Town Manager Andrew Sheehan also previewed a Pension Stabilization Fund, an Accrued Leave Fund, and a roughly $50,000 Pool Enterprise budget adjustment for a UV disinfection system.
