Sudbury School Committee names Annette Doyle interim superintendent in 4-1 vote
Sudbury School Committee installs Annette Doyle as interim superintendent over public objections.
SPS School Committee · Meeting of April 16, 2026
Sudbury School Committee installs Annette Doyle as interim superintendent over public objections. The committee voted 4-1 on April 16 to offer Assistant Superintendent Annette Doyle the interim role from July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, and authorized member Julie Durgan-Sakri to negotiate the contract. Member Nicole Bernard dissented, arguing for a multi-candidate process with public hearings modeled on recent searches in Carlisle, Pittsfield and Cambridge, and calling an earlier meeting between the chair, member Jessica and Doyle a "backdoor meeting." Educators and residents used the 15-minute public comment window to criticize the handling of Superintendent Brad Crozier's resignation; Principal Jeff Mila called Crozier the strongest of five superintendents he has worked under, and resident Alicia Larkin called on the full committee to resign.
A full superintendent search is planned for the following year.
