SUDBURY — The Sudbury School Committee voted to scrap a detailed FY28 budget framework and revert to last year's simpler guidelines after staffing turnover left the district without its usual budget files. Buck Creel, filling in on finance matters, told the committee "the documents file folder on my computer is empty" after his predecessor went on medical leave; the panel voted 5-0 to base FY28 guidelines on the FY27 format plus updated initiatives. Members also approved Interim Superintendent Annette's three goals 4-0-1, with member Ellen abstaining over a disputed state mentorship-program commitment in Annette's contract.

The committee voted 5-0 to delegate members Betsy Seuss and Jessica McCready to build a 13-to-17-member superintendent screening committee, approved release of a joint bus-transportation bid with Lincoln-Sudbury that probes electric-bus pricing, and tasked two members with drafting a charge for a new group supporting Jewish students after attorneys flagged liability risk in an earlier proposal. "We're the largest cost center for the town," Seuss said.
