SPS School Committee · Meeting of March 2, 2026

Sudbury residents pack meeting to defend superintendent amid contract review. The Sudbury Public Schools committee extended public comment on March 2 to accommodate more than a dozen speakers, most of whom questioned why executive sessions have been scheduled to discuss Superintendent Brad Crozier's contract, which does not expire until 2029. Parent Heather Hancock cited a May 2025 evaluation praising Crozier's "strong commitment to academic excellence" and warned early action could risk "significant legal and financial liability." Resident Dan Valonis called for transparency about any buyout costs as the town faces "the likelihood of a major override." The committee unanimously extended its shared bus contract with Lincoln-Sudbury for FY27 at roughly $90,000 per bus, approved most 2026-27 student fees without changes, and appointed Karen Jones to the Anti-Hate, Anti-Bias Task Force.

Health Director Vivian Zhang and Interim Recreation Director Amy Hamilton pitched running after-school enrichment programs inside the four elementary schools starting as early as fall 2026.
