SPS School Committee · Meeting of February 9, 2026

Sudbury School Committee unanimously establishes anti-hate, anti-bias task force after parent testimony. Three parents, including Colleen Fishman, Jillian Grunzig and Tracy Garazzo, urged the committee to act on the 2025 Massachusetts Special Commission on Combating Antisemitism's findings that antisemitism in K-12 schools is "pervasive and escalating." The task force, modeled on Bedford's, will address incident reporting, staff training and curriculum review, with its first meeting pushed to April 2026 to allow adequate application time. The committee also set Explore 2026 summer program fees at $1,760 for 16 full days and $880 for 16 half days, projecting roughly 140 students, and advanced the FY27 budget book after pulling the district's five-year goals for further discussion.
