Sudbury PBC commits $11,201 from contingency for underground fire station power

SUDBURY — October 13, 2022 — Sudbury Permanent Building Committee pulls $11,201 from contingency to bury fire station power. The committee voted unanimously Thursday to accept Eversource's $41,201 underground primary service design rather than seek a Planning Board waiver for a third Route 20 utility pole that would have cost about $16,800; the project had budgeted $30,000 for the tie-in, and Co-Chair Craig Blake said roughly $449,000 in contingency remains. Co-Chair Elaine Jones called three poles serving one site "crazy." On the Fairbank Community Center, the committee unanimously approved three change proposals as presented, including a Barrier One concrete admixture substitution returning an initial $50,280 credit, and learned the Hudson Road waterline relocation is closing at about $132,000 against a $400,000 appropriation.
