Sudbury PBC approves $60,624 Vertex extension for Fairbank drainage oversight
SUDBURY — June 18, 2024 — Sudbury Permanent Building Committee splits 2-2 on applicant Kay Bell and approves $60,624 Vertex drainage oversight contract. Co-Chair Craig Blake and member Jennifer Pincus voted to recommend Bell, a certified Advanced Community Access Monitor; Co-Chair Elaine Jones and member James Kelly preferred to hold the two open seats for engineering or trades expertise. Member Anu Shah, absent, will break the tie at the next meeting. The committee unanimously approved a June 17 Vertex Inc. proposal for $25,056 plus a $35,568 not-to-exceed allowance to oversee supplemental drainage work this summer at the Fairbank Community Center. Vertex Project Executive Christopher Eberly projected roughly $241,000 remaining against the $900,000 Special Town Meeting appropriation, with $200,000 held for an unresolved acoustic remedy Facilities Director Sandra Duran called "significant sound issues throughout the building."
