Sudbury Council on Aging adopts five FY24 goals ahead of new center opening

SUDBURY -- July 10, 2023, Sudbury Council on Aging adopts five FY24 goals ahead of November center opening. Meeting in person for the first time since before COVID, the council voted to narrow 18 member-submitted proposals to a working five, with Chair Paul Marotta running the goal-setting session. The adopted priorities cover cooperative programming partnerships beyond the existing Framingham State and Framingham Public Library lifelong-learning collaboration; advocacy for a formal tenant operating agreement among Senior Center, Parks and Recreation and school administration users of the new building; a self-funding meals program targeting 40 to 50 lunches a day with $100,000 in Cummings Foundation kitchen equipment already routed through the Friends of Sudbury Senior Citizens; a programming budget developed with the Friends; and a written diversity, equity and inclusion policy that Vice-Chair Patricia Tabloski said is "very, very important to have on the record" for grant applications. Member Jeff, who shaped much of the partnership and meals-program discussion, warned that institutional partnerships are "a very high bar."
