Council on Aging elects new officers and adopts revised bylaws

SUDBURY — May 8, 2023 — Sudbury Council on Aging elects a new officer slate and locks in Town Meeting funding for transit and AV. Chair Paul Marotta handed the gavel to incoming Chair Marilyn on a unanimous vote, taking the vice chair seat himself for one year and elevating Colin Warwick to secretary. Director Deborah reported Town Meeting approved $150,000 in Article 14 for the GoSudbury taxi and Uber programs and roughly $150,000 in Article 15 for assistive-listening and AV in the new community center; state Rep. Carmine Gentile said his $125,000 GoSudbury earmark in the House budget is "99 percent" likely to survive conference. Members corrected the bylaws to read "Executive Office of Elder Affairs," not "Elderly," and adopted them unanimously. The senior center is targeting a Nov. 1 through Nov. 5 move into the new community center, with a soft-opening event in planning.
