Sudbury board weighs senior housing at camp land
The Sudbury Council on Aging discussed, but took no position on, senior housing at the town's Liberty Ledge property.
Council on Aging · Meeting of August 10, 2026
SUDBURY — The Sudbury Council on Aging discussed, but took no position on, senior housing at the town's Liberty Ledge property. Chair Paul Marotta relayed a resident's push to support housing on unused camp acreage, while Patricia Tabloski said the terrain was "too remote" and recalled failed housing proposals there years earlier. Members also debated, without a vote, whether Parks and Recreation summer campers should be barred from shared outdoor space at the Fairbank Community Center.
In a separate report, Carmine Gentile said the Sudbury Housing Trust bought a three-bedroom Stone Road home for $825,000, its first purchase in a decade, which a moderate-income family will buy for $357,000 through a lottery. Director Nickole Boardman said the center became the town's first department to produce an ADA-compliant newsletter ahead of a 2028 federal deadline.
