Sudbury Council on Aging reelects Marotta, waives term limit for vice chair

Sudbury Council on Aging reelects officers and advances strategic plan rewrite. The council unanimously voted Monday to return Paul Marotta as chair, Patricia Tabloski as vice chair and Carmine Gentile as secretary, first waiving a bylaw that caps officers at two consecutive terms in the same seat. Chair Marotta noted that Article 21, which lifts a broader term-limit provision and passed decisively at Town Meeting, cannot take effect for 90 days pending Attorney General review.
Senior Center Director Nicole reported the new Tuesday $5 lunch program launched May 5, that Taste of Sudbury has been raised to $10 to work down a 20-to-30-person waitlist, and that a multipurpose room rental policy is targeted for July 1. Member Joel Bauman said state payments to Aging Services Access Points are running late statewide and that South Shore Elder Services is heading for bankruptcy, expected to be absorbed by Old Colony.
