Sudbury COA approves amended senior center conduct policies in 7-0 vote

SUDBURY — February 10, 2025 — Sudbury Council on Aging approves senior center conduct policies as Director Debra Galloway exits. The board on Feb. 10 unanimously adopted a revised policies and procedures document after amendments from members Carmine Gentile, who insisted accident-reporting language require notifying Sudbury police "before leaving the scene," and Paul Marotta, who added an exception so wheelchair users accompanied by a family member or aide are not excluded under mobility rules. Galloway, who moved her retirement date from Feb. 28 to March 6, reported 930 unique senior center visitors and 222 new participants so far this fiscal year, against 1,107 and 313 a year earlier. Liaison Bob Lieberman told the board that of recent taxi rides reviewed, only 29 could have shifted to the MWRTA hospital shuttle, saving roughly $2,323 against a $130,000 annual taxi budget. The board remains two members short of its nine-seat complement.
