Select Board ratifies FY24 tax classification, authorizes Fairbank contracts

SUDBURY — December 12, 2023 — Sudbury Select Board ratifies FY24 tax classification and authorizes Fairbank Community Center contracts. The board voted 5-0 to confirm a residential factor of 0.9698 and a CIP shift of 1.41 under MGL c. 40 § 56, formally closing the tax classification hearing left open from Dec. 5. A second 5-0 vote authorized Town Manager Andy Sheehan to award contracts ancillary to the general contractor at Fairbank, including a roughly $494,000 audiovisual package. Combined Facilities Director Sandra Duran said the AV scope was bid twice and will be completed by spring: "we are confident that the package that we put out, what we got, and we'll do it for the money." Member Daniel Carty traced AV funding to roughly $50,000 from 2020, $300,000 from 2022 and $150,000 from 2023 town meetings, plus about $14,000 in ARPA design funds. Staff move-in began Dec. 13.
