Conservation Commission approves Hudson Brown Road tree, fence order with erosion contingency
SUDBURY — December 18, 2023 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears Hudson Brown Road tree plan after applicant apologizes for premature work. The commission voted unanimously, with member Kathleen Rogers recused as an abutter, to issue an order of conditions for Brian and Corin Kaporra's removal of 12 trees and roughly 54 replacement plantings at 41 Hudson Brown Road, after Conservation Coordinator Lori Capone agreed to inspect the site the next morning for erosion. Brian Kaporra apologized for installing a fence and mechanically clearing invasives before authorization, saying "being a first timer, I think I'm learning a lot of lessons here." Vice-Chair Kenneth Holtz told him "you should wait for the order of conditions from the commission before you do any of that type of work." The commission also opened a hearing on a five-bedroom home at lot 2 Brimstone Lane, flagged an unflagged stream and missing alternatives analysis, and continued the matter to Jan. 22 after two abutters raised flooding concerns.
