Historical Commission rules 92 Goodnow Road historically significant in 5-0 vote
SUDBURY — December 12, 2023 — Sudbury Historical Commission triggers demolition plan review for 1790 Federal-style home at 92 Goodnow Road. The commission voted 5-0 Tuesday to find the house historically significant under the town's demolition delay bylaw, citing its MACRIS listing, its Brigham and Goodnow family ownership history, and an original rear brick wall member William S. Andreas said may have come from a Sudbury brickyard operating roughly 1785 to 1800. Chair Christopher Hagger called the front entrance detail "particularly unique and stunning"; architect David Morgan said his proposed addition would be visible only from the rear. Members also approved level funding of $8,500 for fiscal 2025 on a 7-0 vote, with roughly $1,400 unspent from the prior year, and learned the town received six bids on the Hosmer House structures and landscape study. A public hearing on the 92 Goodnow Road demolition plan is targeted for Jan. 16.
