Select Board appoints Porcella town accountant, closes out $700,000 in capital balances
SUDBURY — April 15, 2025 — Sudbury appoints internal candidate as town accountant and recovers $700,000 in stale capital balances. The Select Board voted 5-0 Tuesday to confirm Robin Porcella, a 26-year town employee, as town accountant effective May 1, succeeding Lori DelOglio, who is resigning April 30 for personal reasons less than two years into the role. Finance Director Victor Garofalo also presented — and the board accepted 5-0 — a memo closing out completed capital projects and returning $700,162 to free cash. The board took 5-0 positions supporting three remaining warrant articles for the May 5 Annual Town Meeting: a $550,000 snow and ice deficit transfer, which Garofalo said was driven primarily by repeated ice events; $15,000 for the Sudbury 250 Committee; and a $25,000 FY25 Pool Enterprise Fund adjustment. Town Manager Andy Sheehan said the Atkinson Pool renovation bid coming in the next day faces "tariff" exposure on component costs and may push the project to a fall special town meeting. Chair Jennifer Roberts, attending her last regular meeting before leaving the board, will submit her town manager evaluation before her term ends.
