Council on Aging tightens GoSudbury rideshare rules, schedules August board training

SUDBURY — July 14, 2025 — Sudbury Council on Aging tightens subsidized rideshare program as grant funds run out. Director Nickole Boardman and member Mary McLaughlin told the board Monday the GoSudbury Uber program, currently running about $10,000 a month and open to all residents 60 and older, will be restricted starting in September to seniors with documented financial need or a disability, with roughly 30 vouchers issued per month and trips prioritized for medical, legal and grocery uses. The companion medical-taxi program will be limited to medical appointments only; both cap rides at 25 miles. Chair Paul Marotta set an Aug. 4 board training and named Vice Chair Patricia Tabloski to lead a strategic planning push, asking members for "big ticket" ideas by Aug. 15. Member Carmine Gentile previewed an Oct. 23 housing forum at the Goodnow Library with the 495/MetroWest Partnership's Jason Palitsch.
