Conservation Commission approves two riverfront projects, continues three notices of intent

SUDBURY — March 11, 2024 — Sudbury Conservation Commission approves Southwest Circle restoration and Plimpton Road entry. The commission on March 11 issued negative determinations of applicability for two riverfront-area projects and continued three pending notices of intent without discussion. New Southwest Circle owner Eamon McMahon, represented by landscape designer Karen Sebastian, will replant a no-disturb area encroached upon since a 1997 subdivision order, using native species including black gum, sweetbay magnolia, redbud, winterberry and a New England Wetland Plants seed mix. Six conditions attach, including planting by June 1, 2024 and a two-growing-season survivorship requirement. Member Bruce Porter pressed for specifics on decommissioning the irrigation system; Sebastian said she would "rather get it out of there if we can," and the commission required removing as much as possible. The 25 Plimpton Road front-entry reconstruction by David Barron drew two conditions and unanimous approval.
