Conservation Commission approves Boston Post Road playground project after driveway redesign

SUDBURY — July 1, 2024 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears Boston Post Road playground project and closes two prior files. Conservation Coordinator Lori Capone walked the commission through a 14-item docket July 1, culminating in unanimous approval of an order of conditions under DEP file 301-1415 for the 225 Boston Post Road renovation, presented by Stonefield Engineering's Josh Klein. Klein said the revised driveway will produce a net reduction in impervious surface within the riverfront area, with sidewalk extended to an ADA landing at the new curb cut pending MassDOT approval. The commission also issued a negative determination for owner Mark Rowe at 21 Woodside Road, where roughly 136 square feet of new asphalt will be offset by five native trees and a 2,500-square-foot meadow conversion — though commissioners declined to require physical markers. "It seems difficult to put something in sort of that large of an area that was going to not be in the way," member Mark Sevier said. Certificates of compliance issued for 26 Alta Road and Congregation B'nai Torah at 225-227 Boston Post Road.
