Conservation Commission approves Boston Gas drill, tree removal and storage container
SUDBURY — November 28, 2023 — Sudbury Conservation Commission clears gas-main drill, tree removal and storage container in busy November session. The commission, chaired by David Henkels, issued an order of conditions for Boston Gas Company to replace a main at Union Avenue and Codjer Lane (DEP 301-1406), with Conservation Coordinator Lori Capone required on site during the horizontal directional drill under the stream. BSC Group's Carolyn Gorse won relief from the as-built survey requirement, agreeing to provide installation detail comparable to the environmental resources map. The commission also approved tree removal at 68 Wheeler Grant Road with an in-perpetuity invasive burning-bush removal condition pushed by member Kathleen Rogers — "can we basically condition it so that the removal is allowed to happen in perpetuity?" — and issued a negative determination for an Aspire Electric LLC storage container at 333 Boston Post Road, where Capone said the only vegetation displaced was Japanese knotweed.
