Sudbury seeks volunteers for superintendent screening panel
The Sudbury School Committee is seeking 13 to 17 community members to serve on a Superintendent Screening Committee that will help choose the district's next superintendent; the online interest form closes Oct. 19, 2026, at 5 p.m.
The Sudbury School Committee announced Oct. 15 that it is beginning the search for the district's next superintendent of schools for the 2027-28 school year and is seeking community members to serve on a Superintendent Screening Committee.
The School Committee said it is working with the Collins Center to support what it called a thoughtful and transparent search process. The Screening Committee will review and interview candidates and recommend finalists to the School Committee, which the announcement said is ultimately responsible for selecting and appointing the superintendent.
The committee is seeking approximately 13 to 17 members representing a range of school and community stakeholders. Most of the group's work is expected to happen in November and December, mainly in the evenings and possibly on Saturdays. In-person participation is preferred for most meetings and required for certain sessions, including candidate interviews.
Residents interested in serving must complete the Superintendent Screening Committee Interest Form. Because the committee's size is limited, the School Committee said submitting the form does not guarantee appointment. The form closes Monday, Oct. 19, 2026, at 5 p.m.
The School Committee said there will be additional opportunities for community members to provide input throughout the superintendent search.
