Sudbury Planning Board sends former Acapulco's site to full site plan review

SUDBURY — November 30, 2022 — Sudbury Planning Board routes former Acapulco's rebuild to full site plan review. Owner Steve Ross, who bought the 694 Boston Post Road property in 1999, told the board the town shut the restaurant in July 2021 over code violations and a failed septic system after his triple-net tenant "took all the profits, but didn't put any back into the building." Ross has installed a new septic system sized for 140 seats at a cost of $250,000 and plans a roughly 492-square-foot addition on the existing footprint. The board voted 5-0 to deny the minor site plan application, with Director of Planning Adam Duchesneau confirming the project also triggers a major stormwater management permit and a Zoning Board of Appeals special permit. In a separate vote, the board denied 5-0 a request to waive the peer review fee on the 15 Bishop Lane stormwater permit and unanimously approved a scenic road application to rebuild a 20-foot section of stone wall at 226 Morse Road.
