Planning Board · Meeting of September 23, 2026
Sudbury Planning Board approved continued Eversource storm-resiliency tree clearing on four scenic roads. Vice Chair John Sugrue presided in Chair Stephen Garvin's absence as members voted 4-0 to approve pruning along Concord, Plimpton, Pantry and Water Row, plus removal of previously deferred "level one" hazard trees. Arborist Matthew Mitchell told the board one large Plimpton Road oak would be pruned, not removed, saying "there's no such thing as a slow death for a tree." Member Anuraj Shah called the work "very conscientiously done." The board also voted 4-0 to approve a stone wall removal at 0 Mossman Road, a minor stormwater permit modification at 8 Maidenway, a bond release for 115 Brimstone Lane, and a rare rental approval for a Mahoney Farms unit.
Staff flagged a possible $150,000 state grant for Route 20 zoning work.
