Sudbury Planning Board endorses MBTA Communities action plan filing

SUDBURY — November 9, 2022 — Sudbury Planning Board endorses MBTA Communities action plan to maintain interim compliance through 2024. The board voted 4-0 Wednesday, with John Sugrue absent, to send the draft action plan to the Select Board ahead of a January submission to the state Department of Housing and Community Development. Planning Director Adam Duchesneau said the filing "buys time" before a Dec. 31, 2024, full-compliance deadline; missing it would cost the town eligibility for Housing Choice, MassWorks and Local Capital Projects funding, and possibly 10 percent of Sudbury Housing Authority operating funds. Member Justin Finnecombe warned added density would worsen traffic because Sudbury sits far from transit. The board also endorsed a 2,389-square-foot Butler Road land swap and continued a 15 Bishop's Lane stormwater hearing to Nov. 30 after the applicant's engineer agreed to recalculate disturbance figures.
