Sudbury Planning Board recommends against $450,000 Hudson Road land buy
SUDBURY — May 28, 2025 — Sudbury Planning Board re-elects Garvin chair, recommends town pass on $450,000 Hudson Road parcel. The board on May 28 unanimously returned Stephen Garvin to the chair and elevated John Sugrue to vice chair, with Anuraj Shah as clerk, after the prior vice chair's departure left the seat vacant. Members voted 5-0 to recommend the Select Board not exercise its Chapter 61A right of first refusal on a one-acre, isolated lot at 136 Hudson Road carrying a $450,000 qualified offer and unpaid taxes; the Conservation Commission previously declined to recommend acquisition. The board continued the four-year-old Bonney Brook Estates subdivision hearing on Maynard Road to June 11, with staff still pressing the applicant to withdraw without prejudice and refile so that two members ineligible to vote on the affordable-housing special permit can participate. "I'm not going to vote for a subdivision or stormwater permit without the inclusionary housing being able to be part of that vote," Garvin said. Craig Blake was reappointed 5-0 to the Permanent Building Committee.
