Planning Board denies Peakham Road scenic application over sidewalk easement

SUDBURY — October 26, 2022 — Sudbury Planning Board denies Peakham Road scenic application after owner refuses sidewalk easement. The board voted 3-1 against a motion to approve Robert Green's request to relocate two driveway curb cuts and rebuild a dry-stacked stone wall at 84 Peakham Road, with member Justin Finnegan the lone vote in favor. Chair Stephen Garvin, Vice Chair John Sugrue and member John Hinks sought an easement for the town to close the last sidewalk gap on Peakham Road, roughly 544 feet of frontage. Green called the request a taking of "almost my whole lot." Abutter Abby Wilson told the board at least 11 children under 12 live within 500 feet of the gap, and neighbor Ellen Dussard cited a recent fatal pedestrian crash involving a teen driver. The board separately approved 26 new plantings at the Phillips Edison center at 423-435 Boston Post Road and a 584-kilowatt rooftop solar array at 490 Boston Post Road.
