Sudbury Planning Board approves Chase Bank site plan at Star Market plaza

SUDBURY — July 17, 2024 — Sudbury Planning Board approves Chase Bank site plan after final circulation tweaks. The board voted 5-0 on July 17 to approve a site plan and stormwater management permit for a new Chase branch at 525 Boston Post Road, after applicant representative Mark Hebert and engineer David Kelly of Meridian Associates redesigned the rear drive aisle as one-way, narrowed the drive-through lane to 10 feet and added more than 8,000 square feet of open space to the existing paved lot. Net parking dropped by 56 spaces to 384. Chair Stephen Garvin and member Justin Finnicum secured a last-minute modification extending a pedestrian walkway and realigning a landscape island; architect Kelly Mejia of TPG confirmed there would be "no LED lights as part of this design" after multiple members objected to the blue window lighting Chase uses at some branches. Planner Adam Duchesneau estimated the decisions would be recorded by early September. The Zoning Board of Appeals had previously approved the project 4-0.
