Sudbury CPC schedules FY25 hearings, calls applications thin on detail
SUDBURY — November 1, 2023 — Sudbury CPC sets FY25 hearing dates and faults applicants for skinny submissions. The Community Preservation Committee scheduled eight FY25 applications across Nov. 15 and Dec. 6 hearings, with the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Phase 3 request set to be amended from $250,000 to approximately $750,000 after Chair Sherrill Cline confirmed that a separate $500,000 Phase 2D appropriation cannot be redirected. The Fuss & O'Neill construction estimate for Phase 3 stands at $1.24 million. Members signaled they would fund the Lincoln Meadows well component of the community garden request while holding back on Broad Acres pending broader town planning. On the $400,000 Wayside Inn Road bridge, member Jan Costa noted the 2019 design-phase application had estimated total design and construction at roughly $200,000 and demanded itemized costs and letters of support. "It really has been pretty appalling, if you ask me, how little the applicant has given us," member Dave Henkel said in closing remarks.
