Sudbury CPC reelects Cline and Markuse, opens FY27 project review

SUDBURY — October 15, 2025 — Sudbury CPC reelects leadership and begins vetting $3.7 million in FY27 asks. Chair Sherrill Cline and Vice Chair Sam Markuse were renominated unanimously by Kirsten Roopenian, who cited an "uptick" of newer residents joining town committees. Finance Director Victor Garofalo reported $2,622,207 in net new FY27 revenue against an $8.7 million undesignated balance — roughly $11.3 million in total capacity. Member Dan Carty pushed back on stagnant projects, noting only $617,822 of $7.7 million in open appropriations had moved this quarter: "90 percent sat stagnant." The committee took initial questions on nine applications including $1.398 million for Parkinson Field paving, $600,000 for the Housing Trust, $337,700 for Smile Playground completion, and $63,000 for Bruce Freeman Rail Trail public art. The committee also voted to recommend at-large applicant David Kaplan to the Select Board.
