SUDBURY — October 30, 2025 — Sudbury CPC approves 2025 plan and locks in hearing rules with a $624,000 budget gap looming. The Community Preservation Committee voted unanimously Oct. 30 to adopt its 2025 Community Preservation Plan and a formal protocol giving FY27 applicants 10 minutes to present and public commenters three minutes apiece, with no repeat turns per application. Chair Sherrill Cline ran members through clarifying questions sent to applicants by Coordinator Ryan Poteat, with the Sudbury Cultural Council's Bruce Freeman Rail Trail proposal drawing the most scrutiny over its missing staff liaison and an $8,000 multi-year contingency line. Vice Chair Sam Markuse flagged that total requests exceed the working budget by roughly $624,000: "We absolutely can go over the budget… we just have to consciously decide we're doing it." Presentations begin Nov. 5 and run through Dec. 10, with Cline asking staff to relocate the meetings to lower Town Hall.
