Sudbury CPC recommends six Town Meeting articles, holds two for applicant follow-up

SUDBURY — January 3, 2024 — Sudbury CPC clears six warrant articles totaling $1.58 million, holds two for applicant follow-up. The Community Preservation Committee voted 9-0 on each of six FY25 articles Jan. 3: $450,000 for the Sudbury Housing Authority, $600,000 for Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Phase 3, $40,000 for the Community Gardens, $33,000 for the Regional Housing Services Office, $56,221 for Hop Brook water chestnut remediation, and $400,000 for the Wayside Inn Bridge. A $400,000 Sudbury Housing Trust request and $100,000 Parkinson Field driveway request were held to Jan. 17 after neither applicant returned the financial detail the committee requested. Chair Sherrill Cline proposed holding administrative expenses to FY24's $114,500 rather than the statutory 5 percent ceiling of $146,250, freeing $31,750. Park and Rec representative Mara Houston, pressing for delay, said "I don't think that we should be approving these without it." Planning Board Vice Chair Justin Finnegan warned the committee was "planning to the dime."
