Sudbury CPC approves $480,000 for Housing Trust and Parkinsen Field driveway

SUDBURY — January 17, 2024 — Sudbury CPC approves $480,000 in CPA grants while flagging Housing Trust nonresponse. The Community Preservation Committee unanimously approved $100,000 for the Parkinsen Field driveway design and $380,000 for the Sudbury Housing Trust at its Jan. 17 meeting, exhausting all but about $1,000 of its remaining allocation balance of $481,087. Chair Sherrill Cline said the Housing Trust had responded to a request to justify a reduced allocation by resending its original slide deck at $1,031,250: "Translation: they didn't answer our question." State Rep. Carmine Gentile had previously told the committee the trust would accept what it could get and could fund one affordable unit at $400,000. The committee also approved its 2023 annual report, a warrant article returning roughly $28,000 in unspent Hop Brook funds from 2020, and a general budget article setting the FY25 administrative budget at $114,500. A special meeting was scheduled for April 3 to clear a backlog of eight sets of unapproved minutes before Annual Town Meeting.
