Sudbury CPC advances six warrant articles, holds two pending more detail

SUDBURY — December 20, 2023 — Sudbury CPC advances six warrant articles and holds two as members work down a $90,000 budget gap. Chair Sherrill Cline opened Dec. 20 by noting $2,119,221 in requests against a $2,028,558 budget; the committee then unanimously recommended $450,000 for Sudbury Housing Authority reconstruction at 21 Great Lakes Drive and 8 Oakwood Avenue, $600,000 for Bruce Freeman Rail Trail Phase 3 design, $400,000 for the Wayside Inn Bridge, both years of Hop Brook invasive treatment at $30,935 and $25,286, and the full RHSO assessment. Members halved the community garden well to $40,000, funding Lincoln Meadows but dropping Broad Acres; "this is a little cart before the horse in my mind," member Jennifer Roberts said. A $100,000 Parkinson's Field driveway design ask and a Sudbury Housing Trust request near $400,000 were held after Cline questioned a $25,000 meeting markup — "I can't believe that the meetings would be $25,000 worth of their time."
