Sudbury CPC opens FY26 review of 11 funding applications

SUDBURY — October 16, 2024 — Sudbury CPC reelects chair, opens FY26 review of 11 project applications. Chair Sherrill Cline and Vice Chair Kirsten Roopenian were renominated by unanimous roll call as four new members — Andrew Bettinelli, Granger Atkeson, Sam Markuse and Daniel Carty — joined the committee. Finance Director Victor reported about $9.18 million available for fiscal 2026 projects, combining a projected $6.73 million undesignated balance with $3.24 million in estimated revenue, less $790,000 in fixed costs; the historic preservation reserve sits at $621,000. The largest FY26 asks include $750,000 from the Sudbury Housing Trust, $500,000 for Hosmer House envelope work, $450,000 for a Housing Authority duplex, and $150,000 for the first year of Fairbank Community Center master planning. Carty pressed staff for an accounting of money spent investigating the abandoned Nobscot housing site, calling it money "we essentially just threw away" — a characterization Cline rejected. The committee next meets Oct. 30.
