Sudbury CPC clears four FY26 articles, defers Hosmer House votes to Jan. 22

SUDBURY — January 8, 2025 — Sudbury CPC advances $1.32 million in FY26 projects but tables Hosmer House items over mold concerns. The Community Preservation Committee on Jan. 15 voted unanimously to recommend $43,000 for the Regional Housing Services Office, $90,000 for a Hop Brook Protection Association watershed plan, $690,000 for the Sudbury Housing Trust, and $500,000 for Fairbank Community Center and Haskell Field master planning. Members deferred the Hosmer House Collection, roof and envelope articles to Jan. 22, with member Dan Carty saying the committee was "moving forward with projects but not addressing the elephant in the room, which is covered with mold." Chair Sherrill Cline cut the FY26 administrative budget to $118,050 from a statutory maximum of about $162,000, freeing roughly $44,000 for new projects. The Sudbury Housing Trust consolidated an original $1.18 million combined ask into the single $690,000 article. An Open Meeting Law complaint referred to town counsel will return Jan. 22.
