Sudbury 250 Committee finalizes May 16 celebration plan and doubles its commemorative pin order. Meeting in hybrid format April 1, the committee approved a master schedule presented by town liaison James, resolving a standoff with the Sudbury Minutemen and a visiting cannon crew by concentrating cannon firings from 2 to 3 p.m. and staging hourly musket demonstrations. Committee member John, who leads the militia, warned that reenactors would not attend for a token firing bracketed by hours of downtime: "If we can't do what we normally do at any sort of event, then it's just not worth our time." Cannon firings will register roughly 120 decibels.
The committee rejected a $2,000-to-$3,000 living-statue performer and voted to order 1,500 additional pins, on top of the initial $1,815 run of 1,500, to give away free to attendees. Vendor count stands at 34.
