250 Committee · Meeting of March 18, 2026

Sudbury 250 Committee locks in May 16 layout with $22,000 left to spend. Management Analyst James Gowdy-Murray walked members through a draft map placing 32 craft vendor stalls in the town hall parking lot, with 10 more inside town hall if needed, four food trucks, picnic tables and an encampment on the triangle. After Police Chief Nix warned that musket fire near open roads could startle drivers, members agreed to move cannon firings to the Peter Noyes ball field.

Committee member John pushed to cluster living history demonstrators on grass because "it looks nicer, honestly, if they're like in a cluster," and the group tentatively assigned them to the playground field. Sudbury Extended Day Business Manager Christina Deignan said her program will pivot to kite-making and craft tables. Professor Dan Mandel's talk was moved from May 24 to May 31 to avoid Memorial Day weekend; Jasmine Goodspeed will speak April 26.
