Select Board clears Bruce Freeman Rail Trail for August construction bid

SUDBURY — July 12, 2022 — Sudbury Select Board clears Bruce Freeman Rail Trail for Aug. 6 MassDOT bid advertising. The board took five unanimous votes Tuesday approving a long-term lease for the Lowell Secondary corridor, six temporary construction easements, three donated easements from Chiswick Park LLC, the CAS Trust and Verrill Farms, a non-participatory items agreement covering roughly $16,786 in town costs for utility connections, and a traffic control agreement for the Hudson/Peakham signalization. Environmental planner Beth Sudmeyer said final documents are due to MassDOT mid-next week. Separately, Woodard & Curran consultants told a public hearing the draft Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan envisions a treatment plant at DPW scaling from 300,000 to 600,000 gallons per day at roughly $30 million, plus another $30 million for Phase 1 and 1A collection. The board also released a statement condemning a recent racist Zoom-bombing and voted not to hold a fall Town Meeting.
