Sudbury Historical Commission defers Section 106 MOA after public outcry

SUDBURY — July 12, 2022 — Sudbury Historical Commission defers Section 106 MOA decision after 40 resident emails. Chair Christopher Hagger said the panel is still waiting for written answers from town counsel after he, member Diana Warren and alternate Marjorie Katz met privately with the attorney; a June 28 letter to the state's MOA office has drawn no response. Warren called the resident response "stunning," noting it included a former commission chair. Member Jan Costa reported the commission closed fiscal 2022 with $1,177.41 in its general fund after archival purchases for the Hosmer House. Members voted 6-0 to approve May 10 minutes and 6-0-1 on May 17, with new member Catherine McGrath abstaining. The July 4 pie sale drew 130-150 visitors and raised $300 for the E.B. Hosmer Fund. The panel will target Aug. 16 for final approval of Sudbury's Certified Local Government application.
