Select Board accepts final wastewater plan, $250,000 Housing Choice grant

SUDBURY — December 20, 2022 — Sudbury Select Board accepts wastewater plan and $250,000 state grant in marathon meeting. The board voted 5-0 Tuesday to accept the final Comprehensive Wastewater Management Plan, its environmental impact report, and a Housing Choice grant that will fund groundwater permitting and public outreach, with Public Works Director Dan Nason confirming the MEPA certificate was issued Nov. 30. Members also unanimously seated nine new members of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission and appointed Olga Faktorovich Allen — a senior director of climate integration at Abt Associates — to the Sustainable Energy Committee. By 4-1, with Daniel Carty opposed, the board reallocated $75,000 in ARPA funds from the Housing Trust's mortgage assistance program to rent relief; Carty warned the shift would set "a bad precedent." Conservation Coordinator Laurie Capone reported Eversource clearing reached Landham Road on day two of work, with about 30 craft workers across the Sudbury and Hudson corridor.
