Planning Board releases Goddard School surety bond, approves Fox Hill stormwater changes

SUDBURY — November 8, 2023 — Sudbury Planning Board releases Goddard School surety bond after $200,000 buffer planting. The board voted unanimously Wednesday to release the remainder of the bond at 423, 435 and 437 Boston Post Road after Tony Hasslinger of Phillips Edison and Company reported installing 28 trees, including 18 giant red cedars, along the property's east edge as an abutter screen — up from five linden trees in the original 2021 approval. Director of Planning and Community Development Adam Burney said Town Engineer Bill O'Rourke "was impressed" with the installation quality. The board also approved a stormwater modification at 30 Fox Hill Drive adding about 1,352 square feet of impervious area for a pool, patio and 3.9-foot retaining wall, with the underground system upgraded to add roughly 700 cubic feet of storage. Chair Stephen Garvin warned the design "boxed the whole back of the site out" for future septic work. Burney told members he applied Nov. 17 for Massachusetts Housing Partnership technical assistance on MBTA Communities Section 3A compliance, with VHB consulting.
