Planning Board opens Boston Post Road daycare hearing, continues to August

SUDBURY — June 25, 2025 — Sudbury Planning Board opens hearing on 11,760-square-foot Bright Path daycare at former Acapulco's site. The board voted 5-0 to continue the 694 Boston Post Road site plan and stormwater hearing to Aug. 13 after attorney Josh Fox and Kauffman Development Group laid out a 43-space, single-curb-cut plan that reduces impervious surface by roughly 10,200 square feet versus the prior restaurant. Chair Stephen Garvin and members Julie Zelermyer Perlman and Kirsten Roopenian called the Route 20 elevation "vanilla" and "backdoor-ish" and asked for material changes; Vice-Chair John Sugrue suggested reducing chain-link fence height to a 42- or 48-inch fall-protection minimum. Abutters Joy and Bill Aldrich of 700 Boston Post Road objected to a proposed temporary construction easement across their only driveway, citing a strip dating to the 1920s. Traffic consultant Jeffrey Dirk of Vanasse & Associates projected 688 daily trips against 15,500 on Route 20 and sight lines exceeding 650 feet. The board also approved 5-0 a minor stormwater modification at 21 Nolan Circle in Landon Estates allowing a smaller six-bedroom house.
