Planning Board continues three permits at first hearing without a planner

SUDBURY — May 24, 2023 — Sudbury Planning Board continues three permits, re-elects chair at first meeting without a planner. Chair Stephen Garvin walked applicants through stormwater thresholds himself after the recent departure of planning director Adam Duchesneau, with a temporary planner working only 10 hours a week. The board continued a Sudbury Water District site plan and stormwater permit for a 3,250-square-foot PFAS treatment building at 100 East St. — Executive Director Vincent Roy said its four carbon filters will drive PFAS to "non-detectable" levels — to June 28. A Camp Sewataro accessibility permit, bid at $70,600 with construction targeted by June 20, was continued to June 14 after Select Board Chair Janie Dretler told the board the camp's license arrangement means improvements "will reduce the revenue share to the town." Garvin was re-elected chair and Justin Finicum vice chair; the clerk seat sits vacant.
