Planning Board continues 502 Concord Road daycare hearing to November 8

SUDBURY — October 11, 2023 — Sudbury Planning Board sends Concord Road daycare back for traffic study and scale rework. The board voted unanimously to continue the 502 Concord Road site plan hearing for a proposed 120-student Sudbury Montessori daycare to Nov. 8 after extensive abutter testimony on traffic, stormwater and building scale. Architect Don Camini of Camini Design Architects presented a redesigned Z-shaped building with residential materials; engineer Vito Colonna of Cornerstone Engineering reduced parking to 30 spaces and consolidated access onto Concord Road. Member Anuraj Shah said the 1.16-acre lot is wrong for the project: "I just think this is not the right piece of land for such a large project." Abutter Lori Eliason, 411 Concord Road, contrasted the proposal with the LEAP school's roughly 85 students on a much larger site. The board also deadlocked 2-2 on a Design Review Board appointment between James Flavin and Dylan Poland, and closed a public hearing on zoning recodification articles bound for the Oct. 23 Special Town Meeting.
