Permanent Building Committee splits 3-2 to complete Fairbank cedar barn door

SUDBURY — December 6, 2023 — Sudbury committee splits 3-2 to finish Fairbank cedar barn door for $16,000. The Permanent Building Committee on Dec. 6 approved Change Proposal 93.1 at $16,080.66 to complete a decorative cedar sliding door at the new Fairbank Community Center, with Co-Chair Elaine L. Jones and members Jennifer K. Pincus and Anu in favor and Co-Chair Craig E. Blake and member James Kelly opposed. The same meeting unanimously approved $44,385.60 in added electrical work — 36 tel/data outlets, 20 wireless access points and 13 card readers — and authorized Pincus to negotiate a no-cost July 7-to-July 26 time extension with Colantonio on last summer's pool work. Owner's project manager Neil Joyce reported the new fire station is substantially complete at $5.025 million of a $5.8 million budget, awaiting only a stamped as-built survey for a certificate of occupancy. Movers begin transferring users into Fairbank on Dec. 13, with a public rolling reopening starting Dec. 26.
