LS School Committee adopts 2025-26 goals and updated protocols in unanimous votes

SUDBURY — September 9, 2025 — Lincoln-Sudbury School Committee unanimously approves 2025-26 goals and protocols, previews $500,000 FY27 capital ask. The 6-0 votes Tuesday adopted updated operating protocols and an annual goals document amended on the floor to add an ADA audit, a capital needs assessment, and exploration of "hybrid LS School Committee meetings at LS." Assistant Superintendent for Finance and Operations Susan Shields presented FY27 capital requests including $170,000 for a wastewater sludge biotic index panel, $150,000 for a network core renewal (with a 40-to-50 percent E-Rate discount expected), $90,000 for a Ford F-550 dump truck, and $90,000 for a 15-passenger athletic van. Member Charles Morton challenged the four-year van replacement plan, asking whether it "is actually delivering what all the programs need" given current usage; Superintendent Andrew Stephens agreed to bring Athletic Director Dan Russo's data to the Sept. 24 vote. Stephens also announced LSRHS was named the 2024-25 Special Olympics Massachusetts Unified Champion School.
