Lincoln-Sudbury subcommittee interviews three firms to lead superintendent search

SUDBURY — December 12, 2022 — Lincoln-Sudbury subcommittee interviews three firms to run its superintendent search. The Superintendent Search Subcommittee, chaired by Kevin Matthews with members Candace Miller and Harold Engstrom, heard pitches Dec. 12 from David DeRosa of NESDEC, Ray Shurtleff and Bill Delpini of the Collins Center, and Glenn Koocher of the Massachusetts Association of School Committees. Cost proposals range from roughly $10,000 to $20,000, below the formal procurement threshold. Each firm fielded questions about the district's combined superintendent-principal role, a structure dating to when the school enrolled 240 students versus today's 1,600. Koocher said eight to 10 eastern Massachusetts districts are currently searching. Delpini said his work is "trying to figure out people who may not apply unless they get a phone call." The subcommittee meets Thursday to rank firms and forward a single recommendation.
