Lincoln-Sudbury search committee elects Matthews chair, Sylvia vice chair
SUDBURY — February 2, 2023 — Lincoln-Sudbury search committee elects leaders, eyes late-March superintendent pick. The joint subcommittee/screening committee voted unanimously to install Kevin Matthews as chair and Sylvia as vice chair at its Feb. 2 meeting, with the regional high school's superintendent posting set to close Feb. 28 — four days later than originally planned. Matthews said MASC consultant Glenn will deliver a tiered A/B/C ranking of applicants but that members will see every file, telling the panel "nothing would be excluded." The committee could interview up to a dozen candidates before forwarding three to five finalists to the full School Committee, with on-campus visits modeled on the last search. Member Damon objected to the draft profile's METCO section as "deficit thinking," and Matthews invited revised language within days. Matthews said he still hopes a hire can be signed by late March.
